Everything You Need to Know About Traveling The Galapagos
The Galapagos National Park is one of the most regulated destinations in the world. Don’t miss seeing penguins or giant tortoises because of the wrong season or itinerary.
When’s the best time to visit?
The best time to visit the Galapagos depends on the type of wildlife and activities you’re interested in.
December–May: Warm waters, excellent snorkeling, and the nesting season for many species.
June–November: Cooler waters, ideal for birdwatching (bird courtship), penguin sightings, and nutrient-rich marine life.
What’s the difference between cruise types?
Luxury Cruises: Offer high-end amenities, fine dining, and personalized services. Perfect for travelers seeking comfort and exclusivity.
Adventure Cruises: More casual, often with a focus on exploration and activities like kayaking, hiking, and snorkeling.
Small Yacht Cruises: A more intimate experience, often with fewer guests, ideal for those who enjoy personalized service and a quieter atmosphere.
What wildlife can I expect to see?
Expect to see unique wildlife such as giant tortoises, marine iguanas, sea lions, blue-footed boobies, penguins, and dolphins, all in their natural, free-roaming habitats.
While sightings are not guaranteed, there are high chances of encountering these species, especially during seasonal highlights like waved albatross courtship on Española Island (April–December), excellent snorkeling and nesting species (December–May), and prime birdwatching, penguins, and rich marine life (June–November). Wildlife sightings vary depending on the cruise itinerary and time of year.
Can I bring kids or a group?
Many cruises welcome families and groups. Some ships are family-friendly with amenities for children, while others may have age restrictions for certain activities. For more information and to ensure the best experience for your family or group, contact us and we’ll be happy to assist you.
